We are a family-run Norfolk manufacturer of solar powered automatic traffic barriers, and our aim is simple: to let people and vehicles share working sites safely.

From one farm gate to 1,200 barriers
Over a decade ago at Manor Farm in Calthorpe, we wanted an automatic gate in a spot with no electricity, and we had no intention of trenching a cable out to it. So we designed the barrier around a solar panel from day one.
That farm gate grew into the Dofygate. As it developed, we introduced it to the industries with the greatest need: roads and infrastructure, construction and housebuilding, waste and recycling, and events.
Barrier number 1,000 left our workshop in June 2025, and more than 1,200 now work across the UK, from over 150 at Sizewell C and hundreds at Hinkley Point C to units on HS2. Kier and Balfour Beatty list us as an approved supplier.

See solar powered access control become normal practice on construction sites, recycling facilities, road schemes, events and farms, while we keep improving the barrier and the service behind it.

Safety
Keeping vehicles and people apart is the purpose of everything we build, and it leads every design choice.
Quality
Some parts are machined in our own workshop, and others are laser-cut and machined by trusted British suppliers to our CAD drawings. Arms use mandrel-wound carbon-fibre tube and the electronics are fully potted to IP67.

Over ten years of development have shaped the Dofygate, and we keep refining it as our customers' industries evolve.

Built at our Norfolk workshop
We buy components locally where we can and assemble every barrier at Manor Farm. Each one is tested, wrapped and put on a pallet, ready to start work the day it is delivered.
