Inside the Dofygate 4

A slim photovoltaic panel on the mast charges the onboard battery, and the battery powers the drive. Because the boom is carbon fibre and folds as it lifts, each opening uses only a small amount of energy, which is why the panel keeps pace with demand on most sites right through the year.

Closing happens from the side: the arm swings across the entrance instead of falling towards a windscreen, and it needs little height when raised. If it meets resistance it stops, then backs away. If a vehicle hits it, the break-away clutch lets the boom swing free instead of snapping.

Operation is by handset. The long-range transmitter reaches 100 m, so whoever controls the gate can admit vehicles without walking out in front of them. Keypads, intercoms, push buttons or sensors can take over that job if you prefer.

New to this kind of equipment? Our guide explains how solar powered barriers work, and the automatic traffic barriers buying guide compares the main types.

Remote control from 100 m, an arm that closes sideways and contact detection that reverses the motion.

Solar

Built-in panel and battery for year-round running, or specify a mains or battery-only version.

Mobile

Carry handles are built in and the whole unit, battery and all, weighs 25 kg. Lock the boom, lift and walk.

Questions

Dofygate 4 FAQs

Does the Dofygate 4 need mains power?

No. It charges its own battery from the built-in solar panel and runs off-grid all year on most sites. Mains-powered and battery-only versions are available if your site needs them.

How wide an opening can it close?

Between 3 and 6 metres, using one barrier or two working as a pair.

How quickly can it be working?

Within minutes of arriving. It comes assembled: set it on its base or bracket, release the arm lock and start using the remote. No cables, no civils.

What warranty is included?

A year of parts and labour from the delivery date, a 30-day return if it does not perform as you need, and a replacement within 48 hours through our pallet swap-out if a repair is needed. Extended cover and annual servicing are optional extras.

Can I see a Dofygate 4 before ordering?

Of course. Book a call with John Alston and we will organise a demonstration, at your own site if you like.
